On the shoots, it’s sometimes funny when you have the Czechs working with Hungarians. There were often communication problems. Czechs don’t usually speak Hungarian, nor Hungarians Czech. I tried learning Czech and picked up a few words and phrases, as well as how the language worked. Then I heard some Hungarian. Totally different. The girls would usually try to speak English to each other, or we’d have two translators.

Here’s Zafira (my old boss came up with that name for her). She’s from Hungary, and probably the nicest of all the girls I worked with on the sets.
